Charlotte, NC 12-30-12: We are proud to announce that (

based on the results of our statistical analysis) Expert Shawn "P Diddy" Pealer (2157) has earned the Title of 2012 CCC Player of the Year! The 37 year old husband and father of a 12 year old stepson and a 2 year old daughter works for the CMSCA as a Chess Instructor in the local school system. Though he tied for most CCC Titles with 5, his 36-7-10 winning percentage of 74.5% was off the chart! He also gained 49 points on a 2100 rating! For his achievement, Pealer receives a Framed Certificate and participates for FREE at the CCC in 2013!

After NM Patrick "Kahn" Sciacca (2164) defected to the CCC from Florida in the middle of the season, he got off to a bit of a rocky start... But, lately he has become a force with whom to be reckoned by winning the last 2 CCC events and leading in the current one! Again, our Top rated player, Sciacca is a welcome addition to Team CCC!

Though health problems may have slowed down Expert Keith "Chuckie" Eubanks (2101) he was still able to hang on to the 2100+ label! His enthusiasm for chess inspires him to drive 100 miles each way from Columbia, S.C. in order to participate at the CCC! Keith's style is always lively and entertaining! He will surely be moving up in 2013!

Originally from Latvia, WFM Jenny "Goldilocks" Leveikina (2089) has been back and forth to North Carolina from Germany and hopes to stay here! Her 2089 USCF rating is just short of her FIDE rating of 2093 where she earned the Title of Women's FIDE Master! She is knowledgeable, friendly and a German Female Speed Chess Champion! We are honored to have her as a member of the CCC!

Expert Wil "Mayhem" Mahan (2069) tallied a good score with his 3 Titles, but his incredible gain of 121 points actually fell short in the category?! Personal friend of Jenny, after his recent visit to Germany, Wil's results as of late have been nothing short of remarkable. He is zooming in the direction of Mastery! In addition, Mahan has been named 2012 CCC Expert of the Year.

Expert Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (2059) had mixed results this year. With his 115 total games played as well as his 54 total wins, he continues to be a nemesis to our top players with occasional wins over everybody! Patrick also assists us with pairings and rules.

2011 Player of the Year NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2027) again finished with high marks with 5 Titles and total CCC games played of 66 but fell short of the leader in other categories. Still capable of producing an occasional brilliancy, Fuerstman continues to serve as Chief TD and Editor of the website.

One year ago, ex-2150+ player Expert Michael "Bolton" Klibers' (2025) rating was 1900?! Now, one year later, Michael tacked on 125 points and continues to gain! He again proves himself with solid play and strong results against his peers. It's great to have him in the mix! In addition, Kliber has been named 2012 CCC Class "A" Player of the Year.
