My name is John W. "Bill"
Wright.
I am a 54 year old citizen of Monroe, NC, architect by trade, happily
married, proud father of 3 and an active Life Member of the USCF. Now,
a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, for years, I was the
Secretary/Treasurer of our Triad
Chief Petty Officers Association. Over the past 2 years, I have
observed problems which the NCCA has
encountered, possibly as a result of their own design, which have
resulted in decisions and practices that must be addressed and
corrected. I intend to make sure that proper policy
is followed. It is those concerns, and others, that
compel me to seek the office of Secretary/Treasurer of the NCCA.
Elect me and I will collaborate with all officers, organizers and chess
lovers across North Carolina to make the NCCA a stronger and more
effective organization. Furthermore, unlike my predecessor who is
neither a tournament chessplayer nor even a USCF member, I will
become more involved with the everyday issues which affect every
chessplayer.
My executive vote will be based on rule and fact, rather than emotion
or
cronyism. In addition, if elected, I will improve the NCCA roster to
include a member's image, home town and e-mail address which would more
readily allow players from remote regions to seek each other out in
order to play chess! The
NCCA needs new blood! I am therefore, volunteering my time, energy and
expertise for the good of everyone in this organization. The NCCA
annual meeting will take place on Sunday morning at 9:30am. I look
forward to meeting and speaking will all of you and ask that you vote
for Bill Wright for Secretary/Treasurer of the NCCA. Respectfully, John W. "Bill" Wright |
