Why would I be upset if someone wants to form another club? - Just so they don't meet on Wednesday evenings! Otherwise, I'll be happy to even post their results, just as I do for the Tuesday night club... However, regardless of where you live in Charlotte, it's more than 30 miles to Cornelius. It's my understanding that the new chess club advertises their rounds to begin at 7:15 pm. Understandable, since McAlister's closes at 10pm. (though they allow us to stay a bit longer sometimes). The problem is, if you live in Charlotte, you will probably be trekking north on Interstate 77 during the worst part of rush hour traffic!? So, if you intend to "socialize" or dine before you play, you'll need to leave your home by at least 5:30pm? In fact, I personally know Lake Norman residents who don't play in Charlotte for the same reason. So, good luck with the new chess club. There just might be enough players in the Lake Norman area to support it. NMLF
