Carerros "Walks Away" From Violent Disturbance at QCCA?!

Charlotte, NC 5-4-10:  Per the recollection of a reliable source, as the result of a prolonged and loud disturbance at last Tuesday evening's meeting, Tournament Director Charles Carerros has "walked away"?! According to an eye witness, NCCA Vice President Jessica Martin and controversial malcontent Patrick McCartney were involved in a loud altercation "just outside the door" which required the Tournament Director's intervention on at least 3 occasions before the illustrious Vice President jumped up on top of a "bench" yelling, "Come on, you want a piece of me!!?" (Wow!? If one wishes to find out "where all of the ladies are at (sic)," you can find them at the Queen City Chess Club!?)

It is unclear whether Carerros has simply given up his tournament director's responsibilities or actually resigned his QCCA membership?! (Update: according to a personal E-mail, Charles Carerros has NOT quit the QCCA). But, in either case, he is welcome to join us at the Charlotte Chess Club on Wednesday evenings for a great meal, fun, one rated game of chess and no arguments! Furthermore, Charlie should be lauded for the 2 years of tireless "volunteer" work he has done for the Charlotte chess community. It remains to be seen whether the two pugilists will be sanctioned for their violent and disruptive behavior. (Regardless of what they were arguing about, I'd put my money on Jessica in a fist fight!! LOL)

On another note, many NCCA members are not even aware of the ongoing 2010 World Chess Championship which is taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Shortly after the match began, I posted the link on the NCCA "Message Board" which would have made it very easy for members to view all of the games and follow the live broadcast!! Unfortunately, that message was quickly removed?! (Apparently NCCA President Gary Newsom's personal grudge toward me has caused a lot of folks to miss out on a very entertaining match! Good job, Gary! You have safely "protected" everyone from me again...) The ridiculous part is, there is still absolutely no mention whatsoever of the World Championship on the NCCA website anywhere? Come on guys. Wake up! You can do better than that.
