Fuerstman Will Play in Championship! I am pleased to report that the NCCA has acquiesced to the USCF rule requiring them to allow me to participate in the NC Championship this weekend! According to Executive Director Bill Hall, "no member, in good standing, should be prevented from participating in USCF rated tournament competition." However, the NCCA has stated that they still may "deny me the right to play" in future events? In addition, their "legal adviser" will confirm that as late as 10pm last night, we both, again attempted to bring an end to the turmoil by composing a friendly resolution, to be signed by all  parties. Unfortunately, the NCCA Executive Committee rejected it. (I'd like to see the minutes of that "Special Executive Meeting." Did they all actually sit down at a table or did they have a conference call or maybe one of those virtual meeting?!) All along, I have maintained that tournament participation is a USCF "right" which must be honored. And, as it turns out, I was correct. However, I expect no apologies from this crew.
