Fuerstman Is 2011 CCC Player of the Year!
Sixty-four year old grandfather of 4, NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2057) has the earned the honor of 2011 CCC Player of the Year! Tournament victories being the main criteria, Fuerstman won 9 CCC Titles during the relatively uncontested season, proved himself against Masters in other arenas and raised his rating 39 points. He reported 46 wins, 14 draws and only 13 losses for a winning percentage of 72.6%, a peak rating of 2080 and a "Draws/Losses quotient of +1! (See 2011 Top 10 Stats) Fuerstman's goal... to make Master AGAIN!!

Honorable Mention goes to the CCC's highest rated player, Expert Keith "Chucky" Eubanks from Columbia, SC. He began the year with a rating of 2002?! After great finishes in a number of strong tournaments, he had gained 112 points and finished with the rating of 2112!
Though Keith was only able to play 3 games at the CCC during the year, he intends to visit more often in 2112.
 
The CCC's #2 player, Expert Shawn Pealer (2108) was a close second in the scoring. Shawn played 24 games and increased his rating by 36 points. He also won 4 CCC Titles. He finished the year with a winning percentage of  80.9%! The Master Title awaits!

Seventy Four year old "Judge" Slobodan Sinanovic (1894) continues to baffle his opponents with accurate play and a fierce determination to win. He also provides us with our weekly chess puzzle!

Superhero Daryl "Flash" Gordon (1861) played 57 games at the CCC, won 1 tournament and gained 70 difficult rating points, moving him closer to the 1900 mark and keeping him in the CCC Top 10.

Most improved player of the year, was Daniel Cremisi (1481) who gained 337 points! Daniel is a scholastic player whom we hope to see more often.

Mention must be given to Dr. Ron "Dutch" Breukelaar (1700) who Defeated and Drew his instructor, NM LF, and gained 253 rating points!

Gaining 64 points, "Smokin" Corey Frazier (1422) sealed the deal as a "C" Player and continues to improve.

Players to watch: James "Gaffer" Bourque (1442) now Class "C", Homer Cantrell (1414) gained 258 points!, Wil Mahan (2025) cracked the Expert level as he went 25-8-10 for a winning percentage of 67.4%!
