Congratulations to Aaron; he
did it by beating a 2343,

NC Class Draws 43
players?? Possibly Loses Thousands?? Among
the most
Miserable
Failures in NCCA
History?
North
Carolina
Closed Campionship "Crosstable" Excerpt from Msg 529:
"4. And
suddenly, "extra,
extra, read
all about it!"
As a result of
a "sponsor"
commitment,
the tournament
will be "unconditionally
guarenteed,"
whoops, I mean
"guaranteed!"
The problem
is, the
sponsor only
offered $750
and the
difference in
the increased
prize fund is
$2,200!?
Some
find that
dubious
formula to be
a risky
proposition.
I wonder, did
the Board
actually
discuss this
issue and vote
on it? Heaven
forbid, but a
poor turnout
might cost the
NCCA
treasury a
considerable
amount of
money."
Exactly for what purpose is a "tie-break
system"
if not to
determine an
individual
champion? A
dozen or so
members showed
up at the
meeting, sans
the Sec/Treas,
where they
handed out
copies of the
agenda for the
"Annuale" Meeting. (with one of the winners
names still
misspelled??
-- what
incompetence...)
Worse, their
vague
Financial
Report was
missing the
last 2
months of
December and
included no accountbalance?? --- Regardless of all of the negatives, the championship
was decided
among North
Carolina
players ONLY!! and that's a good thing!-- By the way, no
need to worry
about "tie
breaks!"
Neither Agner
nor Wofford
were members
of the NCCA
prior to this
event, so
according to
the NCCA
Bylaws
requiring 6 month prior membership, neither qualifies
to participate
in the 2014
Invitational!
Maybe they'll
let Ardaman
play again?!?
