Greetings from Asheboro! The Asheboro Open V is just around the corner.  Attendance last month was a bit disappointing with just 17 players.  On the bright side, we are still averaging 32 players per tournament, and I think September was just a slow month.  It's October, and I am optimistic! We appreciate everyone's support so far.  We believe that by making tournaments more convenient, and by going the extra mile for YOU, the NC Chess player, we will see a steady turnout on a monthly basis.  Help us get the word out--come to Asheboro, and you will feel welcome.  We subscribe to the philosophy "All players are created equal."  You can expect a great prize, no matter what section you play in.  You may not be a grandmaster, but expect to be treated like one.  We want you to play--and we will do everything we can to earn and keep your patronage.
