Leland,   I don't know if anyone has had the chance to contact you, but I know it would be important to Laurin.  I'd prefer to let you know in a more personal way, but I don't have any other way to contact you..   Laurin passed away yesterday afternoon.  He and I had breakfast yesterday morning.  He had been up late the night before playing and studying chess with a friend and was planning on taking a nap, then studying some more.  He apparently had a seizure in his sleep and never woke up.   Laurin spoke often of you and many of the CCC members and how much he enjoyed playing chess with the club.  I'd appreciate it (and I know he would, too) if you could get the word out to the rest of the membership about this terrible loss.  Laurin was my best friend, and this is very difficult to understand.  But I know he's with God now and I ask that his family be put on as many prayer lists as possible as they are taking this very hard.   In fact Laurin mentioned just yesterday that he had gotten a call from Bernard (I think that was his name) "The Reverend" from your club and they talked for a while and he offered to pray for Laurin as he had had a feeling about him.  Please pass on to him how important that phone call was to Laurin.  In fact. you're welcome to forward him this email as well as to anyone else in the club.   I don't know if anyone would be able to attend the viewing and funeral, but they will be Saturday evening and Sunday respectively, in Greensboro.  I don't have details yet, but if you'd like them, just reply or you can call me.  My home number is (336) 510-5599 and my cell is (336) 508-8598.   Thank you for being such a positive part of Laurin's life.   Sean Ward sean.ward@mindspring.com ************************************************ The arrangements are as follows: Viewing will be at: Forbis and Dick Funeral Services 1118 N.
