Chess Prose - By Rich Sneed

A new guy came to Charlotte looking for a chess club to steal.

He wanted to make a quick buck and didn't have the stamina or the luck to make it stick,
So the closest real estate he could find was a french place called Le Land's who was stead fast and real.
So they sat down not to a meal, but a game of chess,
A very important game that day, him against him and electric was the feel.
Many came from miles around just to see the deal go down,
Yeah standing room only and even on the net it was streamed.
Pieces clashed, armor and swords were dashed and a woman from the audience fainted right after she screamed.
After the dust settled on that 64 square board,
Truth and honor was the mettle that won out that day.
Lets just say the Charlotte Chess Club is here to stay.

(Note: though Rich rarely comes to the club, he has been a member for more than 20 consecutive years! Thank you, Rich Sneed, for supporting the CCC!
