Response
to Slurs on the NCCA Forum... By NM Leland Fuerstman Note: Since I am forbidden from posting messages on the NCCA Forum, I have provided the following responses for your reading pleasure. 1. NM Chris Mabe: Ah, yes, the "Eddie Haskell" of the NCCA!? I have not completely ignored your recent childish attempt to stir up trouble on the NCCA message board? The twisted pleasure you derive from this makes little sense to me? You are one of the few honored ex-members who cut your teeth on higher level chess at the CCC and actually achieved the Title of National Master! Seems like you would be a bit friendlier to our cause... but, instead of contributing something positive, you stand on the sidelines and toss barbs?! Next time, no Draw for you?! 2. Randy Wheeless: The "Pillsbury Doughboy" of the NCCA was a member of the CCC for 7 years during which time he participated in 24 Charlotte Chess Club events... You promptly followed NM Mabe's lead with your intentional personal insults to me and the innocent players who participate in CCC events?--- All apparently designed to save face and cover-up what you got away with at the 2009 Scholastics?! Is it necessary to again call you a liar and challenge you for the 5th time in public to meet me at an independent certified polygraph examiner's office in order to determine who is telling the "truth?!" Why is it, that for the past 3 years, Newsom and High used the same Blake Hotel and paid nothing for the use of the same playing rooms? Thanks to you, scholastic players will be required to pay $69? at the site for next years event, and, as usual, (because of the NCCA's ongoing policy of "de-regulation") no accounting nor evidence of the distribution of thousands of dollars will be disclosed? You're not just part of the problem; you created the problem... please either submit to the polygraph, or "shut up" and go away. -- In 2009, the representative of the Blake Hotel who handled your account, Ms. Sarah Foster, stated to me in a phone conversation that "since you had 187 room nights out of the agreed 200, they called it even and you paid nothing for the use of all of the playing areas" End of Quote. - including the "team rooms" which you rented out for hundreds of dollars each!? You should be ashamed of yourself... Good work, Chris. Thanks for encouraging me to refresh everyone's memory... 3. President Rudy Abate: There are so many more important things to do than that which you have already "undone?" If it takes 11 paragraphs to explain how to collect the $8 membership fee then... wait a minute. I thought the members voted that the annual dues would be increased to $10? Which one is it, and why? Oh, I see... read the 11 paragraphs for a "simple" explanation!? Sir, one sentence would have been sufficient: "the Annual Membership Fee has been increased to $10, payable when your current membership expires." Look! Since next years event is scheduled to generate over $25,000 in revenue, why not do something important like form a committee and take control of the 2013 NC Scholastic Championship as your Articles of Incorporation require you to do in order to make sure that it is legally planned and accounted for and properly conducted? Furthermore, the "new" facade of the NCCA website has added little to it's content?! I can only assume that there is a difference between the terms "Editor" and "Webmaster." (See Msg480a) for recommendations. Instead of tending to the website every 3 weeks "when he finds the time," I edit the CCC website every day! May I also recommend that someone pay closer attention to the "negative" messages posted on the NCCA Forum so as to promptly remove those which may incite responses such as the informative one you have here!?! 4.
Vice-President Shawn Spencer: The
confusing babble with which you have
identified yourself
on the NCCA Forum is a dubious
example of how an effective leader
should express himself?
Why didn't you simply "click the
button" and send me a "return
E-mail" if you were so confused
about my ad? For the good of all
chess players, every USCF rated
tournament in the state of North
Carolina should be posted on
the NCCA list of upcoming events! (Other
organizers who post are not
NCCA members...why the double
standard?) By the
way, apparently you are not aware of
a time honored tradition organizers
have followed in NC for many
years... From the "Phi Kappa Blanca"
tournaments promoted in the 70's
& 80's by the Honorable Robert
Singletary, were born the "Fake
Copper Blanket" events!! Thus, from
"Reverse Angle" came "Reserve
Angel!" Exactly what is the harm in
that?-- I am a past President,
Vice-president, and everything else
of the NCCA and previously been a
member for "twice as long" as all 4
of you guys combined!? It was
disrespectful not to even answer my
E-mail. And, by the way, didn't you
read the guidelines?What about your
acknowledgement that the NCCA
Forum will NOT be used for "personal
attacks?" I remain
offended and disappointed. Everything
which I have stated here is for the good of all
North Carolina chess players. LF
