"El-Presidente" Guns Down "Outlaw;" All Winning Streaks Halted in Wendy's XXXVI
Charlotte, NC  7-3-02:  An understandably light turnout of only 26 of the Charlotte area's most talented inanimate object manipulators (a number of CCC players are participating in the World Open and others are simply on vacation) witnessed an early display of pyrotechnics on Wednesday evening as they participated in Rd:4 of Wendy's XXXVI. In the Top Section, playing the defense,NM Leland "El-Presidente" Fuerstman (2009) exploded a firecracker under the seat of NM Garrick H.G."Outlaw" Wells (2085)(See Game 0236)  but still trails NM Frankie "Blitz" Newton(3.5-.5) who requested, and was granted a half point Bye. Meanwhile, NM Daniel "Deep" Liu (2000) outplayed Jon "Cigars" Pietras (1745) while Clarke "Kent" Brosi (1809) got "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings with a single bound" over David "Kamikaze" Jaap (1835). In the Middle Section, now leading with 3.5-.5"Smokin" Brian Fraiser (1644) manhandled Slobodan "the Mad Serb" Sinanovic (1723), Doug "Sky" Millsaps (1642) beat down Michael "You Know You Make Me Wanna" Shoup (1550), Viktor "The Mad Ukrainian" Ozherelyev (1404) confiscated the "Green Card" of Danesh "Ayatollah" Dadgar (1623), Algie "Van" Clyburn (1585) wiped out Nate "TechDude" Eerenberg (1498) and Robert "Dirty Harry" Callahan (1638) split the point with Spencer "Jazzman" Singleton (1420). In the Lower Section, the winning streak of Alphonse "Amazing Al" Ashamalla (1234) was snapped at the hands of Winfred "Guns" Gatlin (1345). Other Lower Section winners were: Mike Richards, David Stephenson, Hassan Hashemloo and Joe Shirlen. All results may be viewed in the "Current Crosstable. All welcome new CCC member Scott Duncan.
