CCC Adds 2 More Masters to Roster! NM Justin Daniel
& NM Harold Mouzon have both unofficially acheived
the Title of National Master with updated ratings of 2204.
"The Master title is sought by many but achieved by few." Congratulations,

Mu Middle; Ashamalla takes $100 Bonus
in Lower Section of Wendy's XXXVII Charlotte,
NC 8-14-02: A near record breaking

of the Metrolina area's most ambitious chess players participated
in Wendy's
XXXVII. In the Top Section, the
CCC's #1 active player, NM Frankie "Blitz" Newton (2236) (due
to another pairing glitch) overwhelmed Slobodan "the Mad Serb" Sinanovic
(1700) to score 4-1 and capture his
unprecedented 21st Wendy's Title. Meanwhile, 18 year old phenom,
newly "unofficially" crowned National Master Justin "Dog" Daniel
(2204) bested
newly appointed CCC "Favorite Son" Daniel "Johnny" Tapia (2091) to finish
2nd
with 3.5-1.5, NM Leland "El-Presidente"
Fuerstman
(2021) snapped
a pawn and pushed home a win versus NM Daniel "Deep" Liu (2000)(See
Game 0244) and Patrick "Flanker" McCartney
(1949) split the point with Jon "Cigars" Pietras (1798).

rising star Frank "Moo" Mu (1628)
short circuited Nathan "TechDude" Eerenberg (1493) to finish with a strong
4.5-.5.
Meanwhile, "Smokin" Brian Fraiser (1661) visited
Disneyland on "CEO" Mike Isner (1572) to finish 2nd with 4-1,

"Flash" Gordon (1619) deported Danesh "the Mad Iranian" Dadgar (1579),
the good Reverend Bernard "B-man" Baker (1616) preached a
sermon to Michael "You Know You Make Me Wanna" Shoup (1329) and David
"Keith" Richards (1719) played a rock & roll riff on Algie "Van"
Clyburn (1500). In the Lower Section, vying for a
$100
bonus!, CCC Player Representative
Alphonse "Amazing Al" Ashamalla
(1280)
took home the cash after a hardfought struggle against his Nemesis
Winfred "Guns" Gatlin (1376) (See Game 0243).

of Charlotte dispatched of Keith Eubanks (2036) of Columbia, SC, NM Leland
Fuerstman (2009) and Daniel Tapia (2036) to score a perfect 3-0
and pocket $100.
Equal 2nd-4th with 2-1
were NM Joseph Jurjevich (2145), Daniel Tapia (2036) and
Chris
Mabe (1889) each taking home $17.
The Middle Section was controlled by Paul Calloway
(1645) of Horse Shoe, NC and "Team Columbia" stars James MacDougall
(1560) and Kermon
Lane (1458) each scoring 2.5-.5
and winning $50.
In the Lower Section, Lee Nevitt (947) and Jonathan
Munnell (Unr) each scored 2.5-.5
