Joshua Mu Takes 3rd Place in Nationals
Nashville, TN 5-10-03: Hundreds of scholastic players from all over the United States journied to the "music city" in order to participate in the National Scholastic Championships this past weekend. After 6 rounds of competition in the "K-3 Section" CCC future Favorite Son, 8 year old phenom Joshua Mu was the only player left with 6-0! Apparently the distraction of playing on the roped-off center stage table, cameras clicking and taping, and adversary Parker Zhao 1888 (a 3rd grader) caused Joshua to stumble in the final round. Still, his 6-1 score was good enough for clear 3rd Place in the Nation! In addition, his team, Barringer Academy placed 14th in the Nation. You have done the CCC proud!
Congratulations to Joshua Mu!!

Mabe Maintains Lead in Top; Waddell "B"; Callahan "C"; Conard 4-0 in Lower Section of Wendy XLV
Charlotte, NC 5-21-03: An individual round record tying 46 of the Metrolina area's most cheerful competitors first sang "Happy Birthday" to Spencer "Jazzman" Singleton (53)& NM Leland "El-Duce" Fuerstman (56) and then participated in Rd:4 of Wendy's XLV. In the Top Section, leader Chris "the Babe" Mabe (1997) was nicked for a Draw by NM Daniel "Schlecter" Liu (2000) to lead with 3-1.
