Wendy XLVI Begins; Fuerstman Leads Top!
Charlotte, NC 6-4-03:  A rather impressive turnout of 42 of the greater Charlotte area's most competitive calculators including  a strong contengent from Columbia, S.C. converged upon this holy temple of higher thinkers more commonly known as Wendy's in order to participate in Rd:1 of Wendy's XLVIIn the Top Section, leading the tournament (for the first time in Lord knows how long), NM Leland "El-Duce" Fuerstman (2017) welcomed newcomer Michael Tripp (1855) to the CCC by squeezing out an OCB ending to lead with 1-0(See Game 0304). Meanwhile, the CCC's #1 player, current NC State Champion, NM Frankie "Blitz" Newton (2309) battled through a tactical encounter versus NM Daniel "Deep" Liu (2000) which remarkably produced a Draw(See Game 0303). That same result was posted after the contest between SC Expert Keith "Chuck" Eubanks (2060) and Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (1931). In the "B" Section, Slobodan "the Mad Serb" Sinanovic (1668) vanquished Paul "Survivalist" Lucas (1676), the good Reverend Bernard "King" Baker (1679) read the last rights to "Iron" Mike Eberhardinger (1701) and Danesh "DD" Dadgar (1624) manhandled upstart Joshua "Moo" Mu (1516). In the "C" Section, Michael "the Savage" Savage (1466) savagely beat up on "CEO" Mike Isner (1487), Jim "Sticks" Ulaky (1407) played a drum roll on Kermon Joel Lane (1487) and newcomer Dino PeBenito (Unr) edged out Winfred "Guns" Gatlin (1405). In the Lower Section, wins were reported by Brain Ruff, Vijay Sethuraman, Lee "R&Bman" Richardson, Ankit "Butch" Jivan, Kevin Huang, Jerry Cui, Glenn "Taco" Bell, Laura Lee, Jared Morse, Rob Morse, and CCC Player Representative Alphonse "Amazing Al" Ashamalla. All results may be viewed in "Current Crosstable." Visit the "new" CCC Message Board and speak to us!! All welcome new CCC members Michael Tripp, Vijay Sethuraman and Dino PeBenito.
