McCartney Upsets Newton!?
as Wendy's XLVII Begins
Charlotte,
NC 7-9-03: Forty-two
4th of July revellers were treated to one more grand display of pyrotechnics
at this fireworks launching pad more commonly known as Wendy's as they
participated in Rd:1 of Wendy's XLVII. In the Top
Section,
a major explosion occured on Bd:1 as the CCC's #1 player, current
NC State Champion NM Frankie "Blitz" Newton (2316) was upset by
Patrick
"Flanker" McCartney (1931) who leads the section with 1-0.

Game 0312)
Meanwhile, 2002 NC Hall of Fame inductee NM Leland "El-Duce" Fuerstman
(2017) split the point with Clarke "Kent" Brosi (1847) as
did NM Daniel "Skip-to-my" Liu (2000) with Michael
"See You Are; See You Are You" Curcuru (1876). In the "B" Section,
the good Reverend Bernard "King" Baker (1684) beat down Jerome
"Bouncer" DeBell (1674), Tarokh "the Oak" Taefi (1706) messed
up Frank "Moo" Mu (1650), Danesh "DD" Dadgar (1647) handed
defeat to Marnzell Hand (1600), Brandon "Starr" Brown (1509)
made his day versus Chris "Dirty Harry" Callahan (1661) and Jeremy Davenport
(1698) made peace with Michael "the Savage" Savage (1549).
In the
"C" Section, Michael "You Know You Make Me Wanna"
Shoup
(1477) fired "CEO" Mike Isner (1569), Winfred "Guns"
Gatlin
(1358) unloaded on Randy Hight (1485) (See
Game 0314) (in order to view
Gatlin's win over Ulaky last week (See
Game 0313), Dino PeBenito
(Unr) assaulted Spencer "Jazzman" Singleton (1473) and Ankit "Butch"
Jivan
(1431) handily defeated 8 year old Joshua "Moo" Mu (1478). In the Lower
Section,

Tapia Wins Top; Davenport,
Huang, James Share Lower Section Honors in Smokehouse XL
Charlotte,
NC 6-14-03: Twenty-three
weekend warriors from many origins cast away their golf clubs
and participated in Smokehouse XXXXI. In the Top Section,
the CCC's Favorite Son, current NC Scholastic Champion, 17
year old phenom, Expert Daniel "Johnny" Tapia (2121) defeated
Kermon Joel Lane (1477), Drew with Tarokh "the Oak" Taefi
(1724) and dispatched of Matthew Smith (1616) (Wow,
tough schedule!!) to capture 1st Place
with 2.5-.5
and pocket $100.
Equal 2nd-5th with 2-1
and winning $12.50
each were Tarokh "the Oak" Taefi (1724), Michael "the
Lip" Lipkin (1712), Matthew "REman" Smith (1616) and
Jim
"Sticks" Ulaky (1488) who amazingly upset NM Leland "El-Moron" Fuerstman
(2017) in Rd:1. (See Game 0305) In
addition in Rd:1, Michael "the Savage" Savage
(1526) Drew with Daniel "Schlecter" Liu (2000). (See
Game 0306)In
the Lower Section, Kevin Huang (1352), Jeremy Davenport
(Unr) and
