Exactly what does breed insanity is reason. Poets do not go

LXXXVII
Charlotte, NC 5-30-07: A
slightly stronger turnout of 21 of the most aggressive
mental jousters in the Metrolina area gathered at this clinic where
chess remedies are administered more commonly known as Wendy's
in order to participate in Rd:4
of Wendy's LXXXVII. In the Top Section,
the CCC's #5 player, the pride of Mint Hill, 60 year old phenom, NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2010) played the White side of a
rarely seen variation of an "Accelerated
Dragon" and ultimately clobbered Michael "Bolton" Kliber (1940) (See Game 0599) to lead with 4-0.
Meanwhile, Expert James
"Mason" Dickson (2007)
outlasted 13 year old phenom Samuel "Xman" Xin (1820) while Gary "NightCrawler" Newsom (1983) clobbered Patrick"
Fabio" McCartney (1987). In addition, Ken
"the Great" Ivens (1756)
upset Scott Baldwin (1953) and Dr. Gil
"Sherlock" Holmes (1640) upset
Bobby "Duck" Waddell (1838). In the B/C
Section, Viktor "the

Top Honors in Quaker Steak I, Myers Perfect in Lower Section
Charlotte NC 4-21-07: A dozen of some of the
finest young chess talents in North Carolina gathered at our new
facility in order to participate in Quaker
Steak I. The playing room was
well lighted and extremely quiet, the free coffee was hot and the food
was reasonably priced and delicious! In the Top Section,
the competition grew fierce as 13 year old phenom Joshua "Moo" Mu 1834) eviscerated #1 seed Expert
Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (2023) (See Game 0592). Meanwhile, (competing
against a
field of competitors whose total ages did not equal two thirds of his!)
with minutes left on both clocks, 59 year old NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2000) outlasted 14 year
old phenom from Hendersonville, Matthew Horwitz (1873) in Rd:1 (See Game 0590), survived a slugfest versus
13 year old phenom Kevin "Spacey" Huang
(1838) in Rd:2 (See Game 0591)
and spared himself further punishment by agreeing to a quick
Grandmaster draw with 15 year old phenom Thomas "Dolby" Paradis (1921) who dispatched of Ken
"the Great" Ivens (1760) in Rd:1
and defeated 13 year old phenom Joshua "Moo" Mu (1837) in Rd:2. Each scored 2.5-.5 and
pocketed $60.
In the Lower Section, "there's a new Sherrif in
town!...and his name ain't Reggie Hammonds!?" actually, it's 14 year
old phenom Dominique "Wilkins"
Myers (1328) who
blitzed the field scoring 3-0 and
winning $40.
(Just prior to finishing =1st-3rd in the Scholastic Nationals in the Under 1200 Section, Myers' rating was 1167. The USCF
Rating Calculator now indicates that his new rating is 1468!, a gain of 301 rating
points in 2 weeks!! We can safely assume that "Nique" has disqualified
himself from competing in the Lower
Section!) Equal 2nd-3rd
were Viktor "the Mad Russian"
Ozherelyev (1616)
and 12 year old phenom Robin Yopp
(1421) each with 1.5-1.5
winning $10.
