In the Top Section, the CCC's #1 player, current NC State Champion, NM Frankie "Blitz" Newton (2280) fell 1/2 point behind the leaders after he agreed to a Draw with Michael "See You Are; See You Are You" Curcuru (1468!!.lol) (Wow, what happened to Michael's rating?..Actually, it was 2082 before the results of a tournament he played in at another local club were posted; results which he disputes...but who knows what his rating really is now? The effect of errors such as this are far reaching and difficult to correct). Meanwhile, CCC Favorite Son, current NC Scholastic Champion, 17 year old phenom, Expert Daniel "Johnny" Tapia (2137) KOed Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (1980), NM John "NightTrain" Lane (2091) intercepted a pass and ran for a TD versus Jon "Cigars" Pietras (1789) and NM Leland "El-Jefe" Fuerstman (2028) welcomed the good Reverend Bernard "King" Baker (1728) to the Top Section!(See Game 0353) In the "B" Section, Ken "the Terrible" Ivens (1666) savagely beat down Michael "the Savage" Savage (1694), Jeremy "Irons" Davenport (1611) robbed Dave "Richman" Richards (1627) and "Iron" Mike Eberhardinger (1697) made peace with Danesh "DD" Dadgar (1723). In the "C" Section, Ankit "Butch" Jivan (1524) deported Viktor "the Mad Ukrainian" Ozherelyev (1599), Michael "Y" Shoup (1519) demoted Spencer "Jazzman" Singleton (1528), Tim "the Chin" Chen (1514) extinguished Brandon "Starr" Brown (1563), Kevin Huang (1498) clapped Jim "Sticks" Ulaky's (1505) head between a pair of symbols and Laura Lee (1347) upset Algie "Van" Clyburn (1500). Equal 2nd-4th were NM Leland "El-Jefe" Fuerstman (2016), Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (1980) and Slobodan "the Mad Serb" Sinanovic (1701) each with 2-1 winning $17. In the Lower Section, equal 1st-2nd Place were Dave "Richman" Richards (1660) and Viktor "the Mad Ukrainian" Ozherelyev (1599) who each scored 2.5-.5 and won $60.
