Lower Section of Wendy's LI
Charlotte,
NC 12-3-03: A congregation of 34
of the Charlotte area's most loyal chess parishioners converged upon this
holy temple of "caissa" more commonly known
as Wendy's in order to participate in Rd:2 of Wendy's LI. In
the Top Section, the CCC's #1 player, NM Frankie "Blitz"
Newton
(2266) outflanked Patrick "Flanker" McCartney (1986) to maintain a share
of the lead with NM Leland "El-Jefe" Fuerstman (2012) who
employed an opening novelty with Black which sent Michael "See You
Are; See You Are You" Curcuru (2043) packing (See
Game 0358). Pacing the leaders with 2-0,
was Michael "Jackson" Kliber (1902) who clobbered Gary "the
Nuisance" Newsom (1997).

a stubborn good Reverend Bernard "King" Baker (1836) while
Dino
"Marcos" PeBenito (1864) survived
a botched operation by Dr. Gerard "the Butcher" Sztyber (1750). In the
"B"
Section,Danesh
"DD" Dadgar (1706) knocked off Ken "the Terrible" Ivens (1654) to
lead with 1.5-.5. In addition, Draws

"the Mad Serb" Sinanovic (1717) and

(1635) versus Michael "the Average" Savage (1675). In the
"C"
Section, Michael "You Know You Make Me Wanna" Shoup (1502)

Take Lower Section of Pepperoni's I (Quick

Charlotte,
NC 11-24-03: A cheerful croud of 18
of the Metrolina area's hungriest pizza eating and beer drinking chessplayers
converged
upon Pepperoni's on Monday evening in order to participate in Pepperoni's
I.
This
slightly less formal 3 round, G-29
event
literally left a good taste in everyone's mouth with each player receiving
2 large slices of pizza! In the Top Section, the CCC's #1
player, NM
Frankie
"Blitz" Newton (2004) secured victories over "George C" Scott Baldwin
(1837) and Jonathan "the Enforcer" Munnell (Unr) before agreeing to a quick
