Fuerstman Leads Top; Hales "B"; Alexander "C"; Frazier Lower Section of Seafarer VII
Charlotte, NC 2-18-09:  Another typical turnout of 12 of the most contented competitors in Mecklenburg County converged upon this mental institution more commonly known as the Seafarer (Just look for the 3-D Whale) in order to participate in Rd:2 of Seafarer VII. In the Top Section, the CCC's #3 player, the pride of Mint Hill, NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2011) snagged a Pawn from the well known Queen's Indian trap and held on, not without some difficulty (See Game 0781), to win the ending versus Derek "Cats" Smith (1753) and lead with 1.5-.5. In the "C" Section, Michael "Xan" Alexander (1411) got quick revenge from last night on Winfred "Guns" Gatlin (1450) to lead with 1-1. In the Lower Section, "Smokin" Corey Frazier (1315) won a drawn ending against Vadims "the Mad Latvian" Mudrovs (1314) to lead with 2-0. In addition, Lee "Roger" Moore (1224) beat down Matt "Hurricane" Harlow (912). All CCC members welcome back Daryl "Flash" Gordon (1619) from a 6 year hiatus! In order to observe all results see "Current Crosstable" (The facility was great! Everybody was happy! We hope that more players will join us next Wednesday to dine, socialize and play chess!) -  Long live the CCC! -  Quark XI - Apr 18!
