Eubanks Leads Top; Holmes, Brosi "B"; Shirlen Lower Section of Wendy's 94

Charlotte, NC 2-13-08:  A rather light turnout of only 12 of the most dedicated competitors braved the inclement weather and docked their vessels at this mental jousting arena more commonly known as Wendy's in order to participate in Rd:2 of Wendy's 94. In the Top Section, the CCC's #2 player, the pride of Crouse, NC, 2007 CCC Player of the Year NM Frankie "Juice" Newton (2293) found himself in his usual time trouble but this time got  checkmated by the CCC's #4 player, SCCA President Expert Keith "Chuckie" Eubanks (2068) (See Game 0726) who leads with 2-0. Meanwhile, Expert Patrick "Fabio" McCartney (2025) split the point with Michael "Bolton" Kliber (1960) as did NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2013) with Dr. Gil "Sherlock" Holmes (1786). In the Lower Section, Joe Shirlen (1039) cruised by Corey Frazier (1130) to lead with 2-0. Other Lower Section winners were: Copeland Blackwell and Ethan Hollandsworth. All results may be observed on the current "Crosstable."  * Our next Saturday 3 round event is Quaker Steak VI on March 15. Our new venue is Best Western Sterling Hotel - Suites, 242 E. Woodlawn Rd. Charlotte, NC. E-mail lelandfue@yahoo.com to have your name placed on the list of players who "Intend to Participate."
