NEWS & VIEWS 9-18-08
Tkatchouk Wins
Top; Wheeless "B"; Eerenberg "C"; Alexander Lower Section
of
Seafarer II
Charlotte, NC 9-17-08: With comfortable furniture
and full course dinners in mind, a grand total of 19 of the most loyal members of
the CCC royal guard converged upon this grand ballroom more commonly known as the Seafarer in order to particpate in Seafarer II. In the Top Section,
the CCC's #3 player, the pride of
Moskow, Russia via Mexico! Expert Dr. Vladimir
Vladimirovich Tkatchouk (2084)
was outplayed in the opening and the middlegame only to emerge into the
end game a pawn down. Naturally, NM Leland "Ennui" Fuerstman (2000)
managed to find a way to turn a win into a loss (See Game 0756)
allowing Tkatchouk to take
clear 1st Place with 3-0. In the "B" Section, NCCA President Randy
"Wheels" Wheeless (1664) took
clear 1st Place with 3-1. In the "C" Section, Nathaniel "E's" Eerenberg (1486)
dispatched of Michael Alexander (1395) to finish clear 1st Place with 3.5-1.5. In
addition, Vadims Mudrovs (1534)
outlasted Lee "Roger" Moore (1126). In the Lower Section, in spite of the fact that
he lost to Eerenberg, Michael Alexander (1395) turned in a strong result of 4-1 to take
clear 1st Place and win Free
entry into Seafarer III. Other Lower Section winners were: Winfred "Guns" Gatlin and Charlie "Tenor" Carerros. For complete results see
"Current
Crosstable" (The
facility was great! Everybody was happy! We hope that more players will
join us
next week for G60!) -
