Newton, (Myers*) Take Top; Brosi "B"; Gatlin Lower Section of Wendy's
94
Charlotte, NC 3-5-08:

participate in Wendy's 94. In the Top Section, the CCC's #1 player, the pride of Crouse,
NC, 2007 CCC Player of the Year NM Frankie "Gladiator" Newton (2291) continued his habit of
getting into time trouble, but was ultimately able to Draw an equal
position versus Expert Patrick
"Fabio" McCartney (2029) to
take clear 1st Place and the Title with 3.5-1.5. In
addition, though 16 year old phenom Dominique "the Dominator" Myers (1776) Drew Expert McCartney in Rd:1, his three remaining opponents

admirable 3.5-.5.
Meanwhile, NM Leland
"Ennui" Fuerstman (2013)
played a trick move on move 5...Bd6!? whereby to the
astonishment of the spectators Expert Gary
"NightCrawler" Newsom
(2065) played 6 Nd5?? losing a piece and finally the game (See Game 0728)
and Dominique "the Dominator" Myers (1776) beat down Peter "the
Mad Greek" Giannatos (1746). In the "B"
Section, SUPERMAN, disguised as mild mannered reporter for the Daily Planet, Clarke "Kent" Brosi (1746) stood for "truth and
justice the American way" by defeating Ankit "Butch" Jivan (1583) and
taking clear 1st Place with 3-1. In
addition, friendly visitor from Denver, Colorado, Albert Gardner (1600) outlasted
